CONTINUOUS HANDS FREE ACCESS

The RoofSafe™ Anchor is multi-directional and can activate and absorb energy no matter what orientation the load is applied, providing total freedom and flexibility in system design.

The unique energy absorbing system inside the RoofSafe™ anchor reduces the overturning movement on the bolts by half, enabling the use of fewer fasteners in many circumstances. is reduces the number of roof penetrations and saves time and money during installations.

DESIGNED TO FIT ANY ROOF PROFILE

With multiple fixing options, 3M cable systems can be side mounted to a wall or surface mounted to roof profiles including iron, warm and membrane roofs.

Variable cable supports and corner supports ensure workers have uncompromising access for all aspects of roof inspection and maintenance. Components, including the 8mm wire rope, are made from quality 316 stainless steel. All fabricated parts are further enhanced by electropolishing to provide strong resistance to corrosion and long service life for the roof fall protection system.

SURFACE MOUNTED FOR MAXIMUM WATER RESISTANCE

The RoofSafe™ cable systems lightweight anchor post design mounts to the surface of your roof profile (generally with rivets). Minimum roof penetration allows for maximum water resistance.

Roofs are changing to accommodate more insulation materials are being designed to utilise lighter materials and take advantage of new technologies. The advanced design of the RoofSafe™ Anchor allows customers to benefit from modern roofing design whilst ensuring safety and structural integrity.

Modular, lightweight design provides safe, cost-effective flexibility in system design including accommodating roof refurbishment and green roof projects.

In the event of a fall, the anchor breaks open, deploying the unique and patented Force Management Technology absorbing system which reduces the forces generated on the roof structure to less than 610 kg. (6kN), the lowest of any of its kind on the market. This enables the anchor to be installed on a wide variety of old and new roof types without risk to structural integrity.

In the unlikely event that the anchor is deployed, it is possible to remove the module and replace it with a new one. This is also an advantage with the ever-changing building regulations, with the need for increased depth of roof insulation.

THE LOWEST SHOCK FORCE OF ITS KIND

Spiratech™ Force Management technology Provides the lowest distribution load to the roof system when compared to the competition.

In the event of a fall, the RoofSafe™ Anchor breaks open, deploying the unique and patented SpiraTech™ Force Management Technology absorbing system, which reduces the forces generated on the roof structure to less than 5kN, the lowest of any of its kind on the market. This enables the anchor to be installed on a wide variety of old and new roof types without risk to structural integrity.

3M RoofSafeTM Anchor and Cable systems require regular inspections and recertification during the lifetime of the system.

PEACE OF MIND

PBI Height Safety are the only New Zealand based company who is an approved recertifier of 3M and Capital Safety systems. 

All inspections and repairs are carried out in accordance with the manufactures instructions, AS/NZS Standard and WorkSafe New Zealand requirements. 

 

BUILDING OWNER / BUILDING MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the New Zealand Health & Safety at Work Act 2015, PCBU's must, so far as reasonably practical, provide and maintain a work environment that is without health and safety risks. 

 

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A RECERTIFICATION INSPECTION? 

  • Inspection of line anchorage points and rail support anchorages in accordance with AS/NZS 1891.4.2009, Section 9: Inspection, Maintenance and Storage, Clause 9.3.3. 
    • Anchorages shall be visually inspected for signs of deterioration which might make them unserviceable, together with any other requirements contained in rhe manufacture' instructions. 
    • Drilled-in anchorages such as friction or glued-in anchorages shall be proof tested in accordance with Clause 3.1.2(g) as part of each inspection. 
  • Any modification or deterioration of the parent structure which might lead to a loss anchorage strength
  • condition and correct operation of line tensioners and line energy absorbers on horizontal lifelines. 
  • Evidence of wear, cuts, looseness, extension, interstrand wear, corrosion, stiffness, brittleness or fraying of steel cables, ropes or webbing used as horizontal flexible lifelines or vertical lines used in conjunction with Type-1 fall-arrest devices with special attention given to lines in the vicinity of horizontal life line intermediate anchorages. 
  • Integrity of cable terminations. 
  • Condition of rigid rails to ensure that the rails and all connecting fittings (brackets, plates, clips, nuts, bolts and washers) are intact and properly tightened and free from corrosion, dirt, grit, sand, cement, oil, grease and other contaminants, and that end stops are in good condition. 
  • Condition of permanently installed mobile attachment devices including travelling them the entire length of the line or rail to verify their correct function. 
  • Presence of contaminants which could affect operation of the system or individual devices. 

 

Notes

In accordance with AS/NZS 1891.4.2009, Section 9: Inspection, Maintenance and Storage: 9.1. Summary of Inspection Frequencies;

  • More frequent inspections maybe be required for systems installed in harsh conditions. 
  • If the user or operator of the equipment is not competent to carry out this inspection it is to be undertaken by another person who is competent.
  • Frequency of inspection by a height safety equipment inspector as recommended by the manufacture to a maximum of five years. 12-monthly inspection [recommended] in the absence of such recommendation.
